A month before the International Freedom Center and Drawing Center are to present anew their bids to stay in the WTC cultural center, the city's firefighting union says it won't support a memorial site that is buffeted by the controversial IFC. "Our membership and our 9/11 families believe that the memorial design will take away from the memory and sacrifice of the firefighters who bravely gave their lives," the firefighters' union president Steve Cassidy said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Blogger Jeff Jarvis says the IFC was a bad fit from the start and should stop "trying to force its agenda onto this hallowed ground."
