Hey, so what are the dweebs up to, lately? So glad you asked! Last week it was announced that plans are moving full steam ahead on a shiny new biotech facility on First Avenue, dubbed East River Science Park. The "campus," on 870,000 City-controlled square feet at the Bellevue Hospital Center, will try to lure medical and pharmaceutical biz to its three buildings by offering "linear garden" space and river views that just won't quit. Says the website of project designer Hillier Architecture, "The design emphasizes connections to adjacent medical institutions while creating a piazza as the heart of this new community." Mmm ... $700 million piazza. We'll take one with onions, please.
