1) Central Village: Grace Church at 10th and Broadway is in the process of cutting down 4 beautiful old trees (camera-phone pic of treeless courtyard at right). Do you have any information behind it? Rumor has it that they are building an underground gymnasium. Aren't trees protected in NYC? These trees were approximately 70 feet tall, and provided lush greenery and shade for Broadway and 10th Street.
2) Dumbo: Does anyone know what's going into that space in DUMBO on the corner of Front & Adams? It looks like it's getting built out for retail... tell me it's getting one of the chains that Williamsburg doesn't want! Gap ahoy!
3) Chelsea: With the recent zoning change to the areas between 10th and 11th Ave in the West Chelsea district along the High Line, I have noticed yet another recently vacated building, this one is on the West side of 10th Avenue between 25th and 26th Sts. The one-time auto mechanic shop now has a sign that reads, "relocated". According to the parking garage next door, the building will be replaced with a highrise bldg. Do you have any details?
4) Williamsburg: Does anyone know what is the status of Schaeffer's Landing on the Williamsburg side of the East River? All construction seems to have stopped.
