Professor's Plum NYU Housing

Pity the poor lower-rung NYU faculty members. The next time they return home to all that drab scenery, the only thing running through their highly-advanced minds while fumbling for their keys will be this: I should be living in the Pierre. And they're almost kinda right! The Sun reports that a Polaroid executive bequeathed his 19th-floor Pierre pad to the school as part of a $150 million gift. And while NYU plans on unloading the co-op while the market is hot, until that day comes, guess who's kicking back in the lap of luxury? A highly-recruited professor and his wife?who also happens to be the director of faculty housing. Genius. A broker estimated the apartment to be in the $5-$7 million range. Who said teaching doesn't pay?
