Breaking the Necks of Young Broker Pups

"Everyone, it seems," writes New York magazine real estate columnist S.Jhoanna Robledo, "wants to get into the real-estate business." And by the short-handled war hammer of Thor, she's right. With 27,000 licensed brokers and agents in Manhattan?up 1,500 from last year and almost 4,300 from two years ago?all chasing bubble-fueled dreams of mountains of gold doubloons, there's probably a lot of dumbasses out there, right? But of course. But fret not, because Chuck Darwin is watching over the biz. "Free-market forces won't allow [them] to survive," Corcoran's Pamela Liebman says. Thems sounds like fightin' words!
