While the Curbedizens of the world wonder about the immediate fate of Katz's Deli (more on that later), another pastrami stronghold is getting passed around like a cheap whitefish spread at your neighbor's briss. The 2nd Avenue Deli building, along with a package of nine other properties, was sold for more than $93 million, the Post reports. The so-called "Clearwater Portfolio" had been owned by Mets boss Fred Wilpon for the past 17 years, meaning that every gefilte fish sold has in one way or another indirectly contributed to Mike Piazza's salary and Darryl Strawberry's legal fees, with a little getting lost up his nose along the way. The team thanks you for your support.
