Time Warner Center Status Report: How Now, Shiny Mall?

A day after the news that celebrity chef Charlie Trotter will not open a restaurant in the Time Warner Center after all, the NYT casts an obligatory eye on Manhattan's spiffiest mall. Findings? The Whole Foods and Mandarin Oriental hotels are booming, the restaurants are doing just fine (or so says a quasi-RESY report), and random public opinion about the place remains as split as the day the doors opened in 2004. Fantastic.
