Trends in Real Estate Advertising: Latin for Dummies

When last we checked in with the marketing of luxury condos at The Link, 310 W. 52nd, it was sporting the gritty, but not too gritty Hell's Kitchen brand image. Now, if the above ad from the Times' RE classifieds is to be believed, they're going on the hunch that you'll gloss over the dummy Latin text and cryptic headlines ("OH MON 1-4PM"?!?) and head right for the big easy English of the Link ad. Of course, the phony black circle and gritty-looking scrawl ("SEXY GLASS TOWER ? COOL WEBSITE") probably don't hurt either. Like we've been saying all along, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, loosely translated as: If sex doesn't work, try Latin.
