1) Celebrity hair guy and heiress dater Frederic Fekkai has purchased the interesting space shown at right, as well as the eight other rooms in this 3,500sf Fifth Avenue duplex that was featured in an Architectural Digest pictorial last year. The $7.95 million he paid is way down from the original $10.5 million asking price, but it's still nearly $2 million for every gas fireplace. [S.Jhoanna Robledo/NYMag]
2) They already have a townhouse in the West Village, but actress Julianne Moore and her husband Bart Freundlich are adding to their portfoloio with a $395,000 studio apartment on Bethune Street. They were approved by the co-op board this month. A studio for a starlet? Maybe it's strictly to house her awards. [William Neuman/Big Deal]
3) We all remember the hubbub over Heath Ledger's move to Boerum Hill, but somehow we think there will be less attention paid to writer/director Peter S. Hedges' move to the neighborhood, into a townhouse on Bergen Street (sorry, Pete). The What's Eating Gilbert Grape? writer and novelist moved from Brooklyn Heights after selling his two-bedroom co-op for around $975,000. The townhouse ran him $1.975 million. [William Neuman/Big Deal]
4) Not really celeb-ish but we're sure these places will be filled with them. In today's Page 6, The Hotel on Rivington's Thor will be joined by an "unnamed, members-only lounge that features a bar made of Swarovski crystals," and Ian Schrager is bringing in a knight to be his chef at the Gramercy Park Hotel.
