We were tipped off to new development going up on Park Avenue on the Upper East Side. Of course, making way for this building meant demolishing "a humble, squat relic built in 1870" but as developer Michael R. Miller says:
Progress is progress. People may have an attachment, but that's how New York has grown. The new development, at 985 Park between 83rd and 84th:
will be a jewel in the upper Park Avenue crown. "It's going to be a magnificent building," he said. "It's going to be seven apartments, duplex, all high end and for very affluent people. I think it's going to be helpful for the neighborhood."Clearly that neighborhood needs more very affluent people. Anyway...not much on the website so far, though you'll love the catchy piano jingle.
