Uptown blogger Joe Schumacher offers this classic barren parking lot shot as a way of asking: What's up with "the first project to mark the rebirth of Harlem in the 21st Century" ? aka Harlem Park, the 34-story hotel/office/condo tower slated to go up next to the Metro-North station at 125th Street? A late-'06 opening was mentioned at the ceremonial gesturing of shovels last February. But so far, little progress: "There is a plywood fence around the lot, and the banner in the upper right side of the photo, otherwise there isn't any sign of construction. The website on the banner, www.harlempark.com, is non-functional."
