20 Pine Open for Business?

Think today is just like any other January 31st? Then clearly you don't have $600,000-$4 million to kick around, because today also happens to be the reported date of the opening of the sales office of the much-hyped 20 Pine - The Collection. It's nearly a Curbed perfect storm: a new luxury conversion developed by our old friends at Leviev Boymelgreen, marketed by Broker of the Year Michael Shvo. What could possibly top that? That's easy?a DUMBO location instead of a downtown one. Ah well, can't win 'em all.

This one's expected to be a blockbuster, with ballyhooed interiors designed by Armani/Casa to add some stylish flare (and $$$) to the 409 condos in the former Chase bank. William Neuman reported in December that the building is expected to fetch about $1,020 per square foot to start. Says new development blog Triple Mint of the renderings recently made available on the 20 Pine website: "This building, built just before the great crash of 1929, is an austere structure, with little of the deco flash associated with its era. As a result it presents a decent canvas for Armani/Casa's muted palette of light earth tones and exotic woods." After the jump, a shot of the pool design, just because.
