1) Looks like reported problems at his Revolution Studios haven't kept movie mogul Joe Roth down. He just dropped $13 million for a four-bedroom, 3,779sf penthouse in One Beacon Court. Here's the Corcoran listing. As you can see from the picture at right, the condo simply has awful views. The seller paid $9.45 million for the place in July 2004. We'd still like to get a peek at the other penthouse, though. On a side note, Joe Roth is a proud graduate of Boston University. [William Neuman/Big Deal]
2) Piano man and driving school regular Billy Joel flipped his Tribeca loft for $5 million (a $1m profit) and has now added a $5.9 million Perry Street townhouse to his portfolio. The three-story bricker has a double-size living room and a pool. He already owns parts of the Hamptons, Centre Island, Tribeca and Miami Beach. [Page6]
3) Sopranos matriarch Edie Falco has signed a lease on a summer Hamptons pad on the East End, in the Noyac Region near Sag Harbor. She'll unwind in a four-bedroom Greek Revival-style home with a wooded private acre and a large pool and spa. The house is a mile away from the Hamptons home bought by fellow co-star Lorraine Bracco last year. [Braden Keil/NYPost]
4) We've been waiting for the relaunch of the New York website so we could add something from the real estate column here, but it has not been updated yet and we're tired of waiting and it's not like we're going to go out and buy the damn thing. Sorry, New York. [NYMag]
