No, it's not the Gowanus Holiday Inn Express, though it does bear a startling resemblance to its downstream cousin. This is the Gowanus Comfort Inn, a little lodging nearing completion on Butler Street, between Third Avenue and Nevins, in what some might call the far northern ass end of Gowanus. But not us. We'll just say it's an industrial street that will scare the crap out of wholesome tourist families from Nebraska. On the other hand, it could turn into a hipster hangout for junkie rockers on a tight budget. Some of the 106 rooms should offer nice canal views, especially of the Gowanus Pumping Station, others promise a nice vantage on the Gowanus Houses and Wyckoff Gardens.
