So, it looks like that long delayed Gowanus Whole Foods at Third Avenue and Third Street is going to have a groundbreaking in November. And, the store appears to have grown while nothing's been happening on the site. A very informed source says there will be a press event next month to announce the expanded project, which has grown from 42,000 square feet to 66,000 square feet, presumably because the grocer bought the adjacent properties, which has long been expected. The source also says "there will be no public review of the project as they claim this is all as of right...There are no environmental reviews going on here." The bigger store will come with double the number of originally-planned parking spaces. Grand opening in 2008?
