It's a little too soon to proclaim it the beginning of the end but some of the tenants in the huge parcel of property that's been bought up by Thor Equities are getting the boot. (The redevelopment situation itself remains as confusing as ever and promised plans haven't materialized.) The Coney blog Kinetic Carnival reports that tenants of the old Henderson's Building which sits across Surf Avenue from the Stillwell Avenue subway station have been told to get out. Kinetic writes:
Thor has given notice to most of their newly acquired tenants in the Henderson's building and beyond!...This is just the beginning of Thor clearing its land up for the zone that will mark the first construction site towards the revitalization of the New Coney. So, is the new Coney coming? Or is Glam Rock Coney going to be preceded by a couple of years of empty Death Rock Coney?
