If it's Friday, it must be time for more information on the Gowanus Whole Foods. The new Brooklyn Papers fills in some interesting detail on what will rise on the environmentally-challenged property at Third Avenue and Third Street in Gowanus. The 68,000 square foot complex is decribed as "glassy" and will now include a three-story parking garage, plus rooftop parking, plus surface parking. Whole Foods is expecting up to 1,800 cars an hour at busy times, all of which adds up to selling a crapload of cherry almond streusel muffins and fromage blanc. Oh, the grocer is shooting for a Spring, '08 opening.
