High Line Construction Update: Going Nude

As part of the news that the reconstruction on the High Line into a park is moving into its next phase, Friends of the High Line posts a gorgeous photogallery of the construction to date, including the view above across to Frank Gehry's IAC Building by Chelsea Piers.

Some details: "Site Preparation follows the timely completion of the Removals phase, which cleared tracks, ballast, and debris from the elevated rail bed. (The tracks have been tagged and stored, so that many of them can be reinstalled into the future park landscape.) Site Preparation will wind down in summer 2007, paving the way for the installation of the new High Line access systems, pathways, plantings, and lighting, now being designed by the team led by Field Operations and Diller Scofidio + Renfro."

Meantime, click through for the pictures, a dystopia of sorts in their own right.
