Yes, the moment is finally here. What's most surprising about the Court Street Lofts, f/k/a 505 Court Street, is that we're not sure if we've ever posted a real photo of the building. So there it is in all its glory, courtesy of PropertyShark. How did we let so much time go by before we updated you on Carroll Gardens' finest?a building so close to the Red Hook ball fields you can smell the papusas frying; a building one tipster calls "everyone's favorite whipping boy"? Alas ... we don't know.
You know the history: the rough condo conversion, the pissed off rental tenants, the noise problems, the crack allegations?but here's the newness: After a year on the market, a bunch more units have been released by Corcoran, and if you take a look over on StreetEasy it seems like there was nearly an across-the-board PriceChop about four days ago. Some of the cuts are more dramatic than others (a $221,000 drop on a two-bedroom penthouse, for example), but it looks like prices are topping out at $650-$700 per square-foot, a far cry from the $900/sf originally sought for a two-bedroom penty in the building. And so, this Carroll Gardens nightmare continues.
