Williamsburg Waterfront Update: Northside Piers Up, Edge Down

The photo above is the view from above of the Toll Brothers Northside Piers site on Kent Avenue in Williamsburg posted by blogger INSIJS, who's back from a hiatus. Two floors of the first of Northside Piers buildings are now out of the ground. The site will include three towers, the first being a 29-story luxury glass number. No such progress, though, on The Edge, Northside Piers' neighbor to the north. INSIJS discovered a Stop Work Order from last week hidden on N. 5th Street. (Demolition and fence permits expired.) Pile driving for The Edge started this summer, and then came to a halt. Technical difficulties, financing problems, back to the drawing board for reconceptualization or fear of bubble burstage?
