As you may have heard, some human remains that may date back to a 19th Century Presbyterian cemetery were found during the digging at the Trump Soho site. The Department of Buildings has issued a stop work order until the situation can be investigated some more, and even though the Trump folk don't agree with the order, they are complying for now. The real fun, though, is when the papers head to anti-Trump Soho activisit Andrew Berman for comment. The dude, much like Develop Don't Destroy's Daniel Goldstein, can spin any situation into a solid gold quote. From the Post:
"I don't think the signs could be any stronger that this project should not be going forward," Andrew Berman, executive director of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, said yesterday. "I'm sure those bodies have been turning in their graves ever since this project began."Zing! He added in the Sun that the developers should change the name to "Trump Condo Hotel and Mausoleum." Classic.
