Brooklyn's Atlantic Yards project has been approved. Seriously. After days of speculation about how the Public Authorities Control Board would vote, the three-member panel has approved the development. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver--who killed the West Side Stadium and has delayed Moynihan Station--voted for Atlantic Yards after all, although he'd earlier been said to be planning a delay until 2007. Crain's has reported that 100 feet were trimmed from Frank Gehry's Miss Brooklyn and other minor concessions made. It's beginning to look a lot like Ratner around Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues.
