Ask Curbed Redux: The Tipping Point

Today's New York roundup of how much to tip just about everyone in NYC—says one doorman (average tip: $98, median tip, $50), "I've only declined a tip once, because it was $5 and I think they were trying to embarrass me"—reminds us of the epic memo (above) posted here almost exactly one year ago, and the hilarious comment thread it provoked. Like the proverbial Ghost of Christmas Past, we repost it today with the aim of scaring you shitless. (Related: anyone get similar, or different, advice from their building superviors this year?)
