At Eighth Avenue and 16th Street, Winick Properties is tearing down a building to build, uh, another building, a move that spawned an epic Curbed reader rant a few weeks back.
Seems our reader wasn't the only one aggrieved by the news. "It should have stood forever," writes blogger BeepBoop (say that ten times fast). "But some people with money to burn+build don’t give a poop. And so one story of storied bricks with stories to tell is being stolen from our city. And all we’ll get back is a new fish tank we didn’t ask for. But some of us will never forget what happened here..."
