Sounds like a glitch or something over at the Real Estate Board of N.Y. is causing angst among some broker types this morning. Writes one harried individual:
Everyone in my brokerage office has received erroneous bills from REBNY for 2006 dues, from $20 to $50 more than they should be. Some bills came with an attached charge for a day planner that was optional but presented as part of the amount due (talk about your presumptive close!). It's chaos, I tell you. No wonder they have such a fine reputation...Thus begins the Great Dues Strike of '06.
