Remember Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta's glorious plan for a copier/fax/printer at the World Trade Center site? Remember how it was, um, like way too big, without a certain museum to fill its space? And how the redesign was going to be "substantially similar" to this mockup drawing? Then, actually, "substantially smaller"? Um, yeah. Like: a lot smaller. Per Architectural Record:
Snøhetta is significantly changing its design for what was once the cultural complex at Ground Zero. The new scheme is now being described by officials as a visitors center. The project’s design has not yet been unveiled, but it will be about a fifth as large as the original building.Awesome. Visitors' Guides for everyone!
