WTC Morning Report: Dear George

In the latest salvo in the WTC planning soap, Larry Silverstein penned a "Dear George" letter last night, expressing his hope for a resolution?after the Governor wouldn't take his calls! ("Sorry, yes, Mr. Pataki is still washing his hair. No, I'm not sure how long it will take.") Larry writes, "The events and the words of the past few days deeply saddened me, because in my heart, I know that we both share that passionate commitment to rebuild, and that we both know there is no time to lose. That is why I am ready and eager to return to the negotiating table." Seems like that should settle it to us!

Meanwhile, Port Authority honcho Charles Gargano is sorry he called Silverstein greedy. He now just thinks he's a "huge asshole."
