Curbed Fixer-Upper #1: Burning Up President Street

[All this week on Curbed, we're featuring properties for sale in the city that need a little—or a lot—of TLC. Got a fixer-upper nominee? Get your sledgehammer ready and drop us an email.]

Where better to start our survey of fixer-upper properties than in Carroll Gardens, the fast-appreciating land of glorious townhouses? Reads the broker prose for this $1.7 million townhouse on President Street, "This intact and well-proportioned 20x45 townhouse is ready for a straightforward but complete renovation. Many original details remain... This sleeping princess awaits its prince charming." The listing photos look quite nice, though the one above is a Curbed exclusive, sent along by a tipster who notes, "It may be intact, but it's hard to overlook the fact that it has been set on _fire_, apparently since they took the agency pic."
