Don't Step on the Riverside Art (Unless You're Asked To)

Central Park may've had Christo and Jeanne-Claude's The Gates. But Riverside Park now boasts Untitled (The Grates), a considerably smaller-scale neon-pink installation by Elana Herzog. Blogger Joe Schumacher snapped the close-up you see above along with the nearby art-warning sign. The work is one of several scattered throughout the park this summer as part of "Studio in the park," ready to brave the natural and human elements through Sept. 16: JS writes of Silver Tunnel, for instance: "quite a sight but was falling apart on the first day of the exhibit."
