In Gramercy Park, the Philistines Cometh

NewYorkology reports that Ian Schrager's renovated Gramercy Park Hotel will re-open in August, a year and a half since it closed and two months after the first residents will have apparently moved into the adjacent 50 Gramercy Park North condo development. What will the hotel guests and the permanent residents have in common? Status, baby:

All 185 hotel rooms and suites will come with a key to use Manhattan's only private park, Gramercy Park, a representative for Ian Schrager Company told NewYorkology. Room rates will start around $500 a night and will also include access to the roof terrace.Tourists with keys to Gramercy Park? Let's face it: democracy has its costs.
