Blogger Will Femia snaps these before-and-after shots of northern Tribeca, at the corner of Hubert and Greenwich. No question that the neighborhood is developmentally upbeat: Downtown Express notes that random test-drilling at two corners on Washington Street (at Vestry and Laight) shook residents last week—both sites are likely to become residential developments—and adds this detail that seems to relate to the lot seen above: "The developers also own the lot on the corner of Greenwich and Hubert Sts. A one-story former glass manufacturing and repair shop is currently in the process of being demolished, to be replaced by a nine-story commercial and residential structure."
Hey, better than 175-foot towers, no?
