Maybe Our Advertecture Isn't So Bad After All

As the judges sift through the entries of the Curbed/Municipal Art Society awful advertecture contest (winner announcement TK!), we whet your appetite for design disasters with the above, sent in by a globe-trotting reader known only as "Howard." He sez:

I'm sure it's too late for the contest, and this example isn't in Manhattan anyway, but I was in Vienna this past March and saw an example of advertecture even more egregious than anything you have posted so far in NYC. The building is St. Stephen's Cathedral, which is located in the middle of the old city (first district) of Vienna, Austria. According to AboutVienna, St. Stephen's was built in 1147 and "has been the heart of Vienna for centuries." Now it's the best Wiener Stadtische salesman we know!
