War Over, but Battle Continues Over Chelsea Tower

So about a hundred Chelsea residents showed up at the latest Community Board 4 meeting to talk mad grime about the General Theological Seminary's plan to build a 17-story mixed-use building on Ninth Avenue?a plan backed by the wisest of the wise. Here's the thing, though: the GTS postponed their application for the project three months ago, and the building is "off the table," according to them. So what gives? The Villager reports that according to members of Save the Chelsea Historic District (a group founded to fight the 17-story building), they were told that the GTS would not build the building, but they weren't told that the GTS would not not build the building, if you catch our drift. Or something. Here's a quote: “I feel like [the seminary] has a mega-missile pointed at us and then saying they’re not going to use it.” Definitely not the first or last time a mega-missile will be pointed at another man in Chelsea. Hi-yo! (We're such bitches.)
