Hear that? It's the not-so-distant murmur of Wal-Mart greeters. Yes, the world's largest retailer remains so far unsuccessful in its plan to infiltrate the five boroughs, but it's certainly knocking at the door, as a recent store-opening press release out of New Jersey reminds us: "Wal-Mart opened its doors today in Kearny at 1215 Harrison Avenue, just seven miles from New York City."
