Sunset Park Update: Norwegians and a New Blog

So, to pile on the Sunset Park love today, we ask: Have you been on 8th Avenue in the neighborhood? If so, you know it's become Brooklyn's Chinatown. But a new neighborhood blog, the Sunsetparker--which promises coverage of all things Sunset Park--goes back to the avenue's Scandanavian roots. The Scandanavian population was once nearly 100,000 and they built some of the neighborhood's earliest churches (and take credit for the first coops in the U.S. too). The Scandanavian East Coast Museum has a site on Eighth Avenue (Old World music included) when it was Sven and, of course, Forgotten NY has Norwegian Day Parade photos and neighborhood history.
