Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Weinstein Heads West

1) Ex-Miramax head Harvey Weinstein, whose film acquisitions usually run smoother than his real estate ones, has bought a five-story townhouse in the West Village for $12.5 million. The 22-foot-wide house has seven bedrooms, eight fireplaces and?obvs?a screening room. No word on who the previous owner was. Weinstein has already filed papers for renovations. [William Neuman/Big Deal]
2) The Brooklyn Record reports that engaged and preggers couple Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard were spotted checking out this brownstone on Sterling Place in Park Slope. If they move in, expect a fierce battle with Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany for the title of the Slope's hottest couple. A fierce battle...with sexy results! [Brooklyn Record]
3) When the Duke Semans mansion was sold for $40 million in January, a new townhouse record was set. But that record looks poised to fall already, as a deal has been struck for the $55 million East 75th Street townhouse put on the market by Woody Allen friend/enemy Jean Doumanian and her husband. No word on the final price for the empty 20,000-square-foot house, so the new record ain't set yet. As you recall, the home is in need of some repairs. [Page 6]
4) 15 Central Park West may not be lacking in studly buyers, but that doesn't mean they want to hang out with the (equally wealthy) normals: Sting and Denzel no-showed at the big residents-and-brokers party at Jazz at Lincoln Center, shattering the hearts of many in attendance. [The Real Estate]
5) When he's not out battling Wesley Snipes in the realm of the undead, Stephen Dorff is kicking back in his new 1,100-square-foot Chelsea condo, at 251 West 19th Street. We couldn't find the exact listing in the building, also called Chelsea 19, but some of the other units look pretty interesting, such as this one and this one. Then there's this one, which is bigger and cheaper than Dorff's pad. He paid $1.65 million for his slice of the pie. [Neuman/Big Deal]
