Before the Bedford Ave. Highrise, the See-Through Building

We've been watching workers taking down the huge industrial building at the corner of Bedford Avenue and N. 4th Street brick by brick over the last several weeks, slowly turning it into a see-through building. Just another demolition? Well, it's one of the buildings on the square-block site of the proposed Williamsburgh Square project. Located between Bedford and Berry and N. 3rd and N. 4th Streets, the 675,000 square foot Quadriad Development project would have four towers of 38, 36, 20 and 12 stories (if they manage to get the parcel rezoned). Quadriad, you might remember, has suggested building as many as 28 highrises on Williamsburg's Northside.
