Urban Archeology: Search for Schrafft's

Nifty Friday afternoon urban archaeology courtesy of the bloggers at NYCNosh, who set out on a quest to find old Schrafft's locations around Manhattan: "More than 100 years after Frank Shattuck opened the first Schrafft’s restaurant and candy store on the site where Macy’s now stands, the legendary restaurant chain has been effaced completely from the cityscape. No small feat, this wholesale erasure, when you stop to consider that at its peak, there were more than fifty Schrafft’s in New York City."

Would that urban archaeologists of 2106 say the same of Duane Reade.
