Ah, Newtown Creek. Comes word from New Yorkers for Parks of development of a new waterfront park site at the end of Vernon Blvd. in Long Island City on the toxic creek dividing Brooklyn and Queens. The Newtown Creek park site is near the big Queens West development, which has its own park on the East River. This new park will be directly across the creek from a park being built at the end of Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint. We look forward to the Brooklyn-Queens love sure to fly from park to park across the creek. How about one of those retractable pedestrian bridge jobs to connect the two?
