Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Paltrow Strikes Back

1) She may be a longtime disser of life in New York, but Gwyneth Paltrow is apparently tired of gloomy weather. She just bought, with hubby Coldplay, a five-bedroom house with ocean views, a pool and guest quarters in Amagansett. Will the summer home fill Coldplay with the joy and warmth that London could not provide? At least one record label out there sure hopes not. [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]
2) The Observer's Michael Calderone (right), who makes our lives so much easier by digging up oodles of celeb real estate stories in the Manhattan Transfers column every week, is switching to the media beat. Tear. [Jossip]
3) Football play-by-play guy Greg Gumbel, who's surprisingly 60, just unloaded his one-bedroom Midtown West pied-a-terre. He'll be on the road calling games, not doing the CBS studio show, so he'll be traveling from his home in Florida. He sold the 26th-floor apartment at 350 West 50th Street for $650,000, and he bought it in 1989 for $235,000. [Keil]
4) Out in Los Angeles, Matthew Perry refuses to say hello to his neighbors. Hey, it's a slow summer news week, OK? [Page 6]
