Some follow-up gossip from last week's broker party at Top of the Rock, via the Inman Blog:
Apparently, a CEO of a top bank in The City went house shopping at the converting Plaza Hotel with a budget of $25mm. He quickly learned that the Park-facing units were sold out. Who's buying? The Russians [not just "coming" -- they came, they saw and they bought]. Isn't it a shame that $25mm gets you nowhere in the big [golden] apple? The Plaza is over-rated anyway. For those prices you should be able to live without the constant smell of horse manure right outside your front door.
