CurbedWire: Fire, Fire in Nolita

1) Nolita: This building on the corner of Prince and Elizabeth that was recently given a demolition permit was "gutted by a fire" two weeks ago, according to our photographic tipster. We imagine the search for a homeless drunk has already begun. [CurbedWire Inbox]

2) Williamsburg: A reader reports, "[T]he rumors around the neighborhood is that the the reason behind the 55 Berry rentals is that the developer went bankrupt and the bank bought it and turned it into rentals." Who's got some listings for us? [CurbedWire Inbox]

3) Soho: A befuddled downtown tipster sends us this bit of garbage: "This morning as I was walking to the equinox gym on prince street, a garbage truck drove by. I watched, mouth agape, as the passenger in the truck reached out of the window and dropped an empty wrapper onto the ground!! The truck drove away but I caught up to it again at crosby and prince as it was backing up and turning on the narrow street. I then watched the passenger drop an orange juice can out the window and into the middle of the street! I raised my hands in total confusion at the guy and he yelled something back in what seemed like a sheepish tone. I'm not sure but I think he actually got out and picked it up." [CurbedWire Inbox]
