From the raise-your-hand- if-you-saw-this-coming department, the NYT reports, "City and state officials are celebrating their commitment to fill space in the Freedom Tower. But there seems to be less cheering — and considerable distress — among people who might actually have to report for work every day in the symbolic replacement for the destroyed World Trade Center."
Among the opposed: a whole bunch of former employees with ties to the former WTC (sample quote: “If my life depended on it, I couldn’t go there"), and the head of the Port Authority, who offered this olive branch: "I'll resign, but I won't ask them to move into that building."
