Next time mom, or relatives or friends come to visit, send 'em to Brooklyn. The Daily News weighs in today with another rundown of the ongoing Brooklyn hotel boom including the Holiday Inn Express in Gowanus (which they assign to Park Slope) and a Best Western in Sheepshead Bay. More to the point, there's the 280-room expansion of the downtown Marriott, the 97-room Smith Hotel that's part of the Leviev-Boymelgreen 75 Smith Street condo project, a 400-room Sheraton on Dufield Street in downtown Brooklyn and unnamed smaller hotels in Bay Ridge, Red Hook and Sunset Park. Oh, and a Comfort Inn on Butler Street near the Gowanus Houses and Wyckoff Gardens, which the developer says is "for blue-collar Brooklyn, or the self-employed." The self-employed, huh?
