You know the street art that gets bolted to traffic signs, especially sometimes in Williamsburg? Turns out that somebody is attaching seats to some of them. The Williamsburg Walkers blog writes:
Functional art? A statement about the lack of public seating in Williamsburg? A place for Williamsburg residents to witness their sunset getting blocked by the impending 30+ story condo towers?...I don't know but I'm sure they will disappear when the DOT gets wind of seating being attached to their street signs. Their lawyers will have a s--t fit when the inevitable injury occurs from a faulty nut or a bruised shin.Damn those faulty nuts.
