Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Met's Queens Megahome

1) Way out in Little Neck, Queens, former Met Edgardo Alfonso has built a six-bedroom mansion worthy of Caligula. Let the Times' Jeff Vandam describe it: "In the basement, in Met colors of blue and orange, there is a batting cage, which is just off the home theater and down the hall from the pink marble spa and the full-service exercise room. There are five large bedrooms and six bathrooms, one in sparkling white and gold onyx. And outside there are a swimming pool, a hot tub and several expansive limestone terraces." Alfonso is selling, and he chopped the price from $8 million to $6.5 million, still a crazy price for the area. Here's the listing. [Jeff Vandam/The City]

2) Robert DeNiro may own Tribeca, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are doing their best to carve out some turf in the nabe. They bought a 7,000-square-foot triplex for nearly $8 million a couple of years ago, and now they've scooped up a $5 million penthouse in the 424 Washington portion of the River Lofts, the last remaining unit in the building. We think we know a good babysitter in the building. [Josh Barbanel/Big Deal]

3) Former Vogue model of the year and current Estonia's richest woman(!), Carmen Kass, has sold her three-bedroom Mercer Street loft for $1.6 million, with some aid from Raphael DeNiro. The place has not one, not two, but three wood-burning fireplaces. Maybe the buyer is someone who truly enjoys s'mores. [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]

4) Hollywood music dudes Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman had to break out the pricechopper on their awesome Chelsea pad. Guess home recording studios ain't going for what they used to. [S. Jhoanna Robledo/Movers]
