Brooklyn Hotel Update: Got to Put The Tourists Somewhere

What with Brooklyn making lists of Top Tourist Destinations, it's always good to check in on the local hotel boomlet. Today's Metro looks and offers a rundown: We have The Smith Hotel, on Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue, which is expected to have 93 hotel rooms (and is part of Leviev Boymelgreen's "luxe + pop" 75 Smith, pictured above). There will be Sheraton and Aloft hotels with a combined 500 rooms on Duffield Street in Downtown Brooklyn. There's "an unnamed hotel" with 200 rooms that will go up at Nevins and Schermerhorn streets in Boerum Hill. And, we've got the Gowanus Holiday Inn Express and the Comfort Inn on Butler Street in Gowanus. The story leaves out our favorite, though--the unnamed "boutique hotel" on Fourth Avenue across from Boymelgreen Hall. More to come.
