It's time for Rumblings & Bumblings, our weeklyish development game. If you've got an answer to one of the reader queries below, leave a note in the comments. If you've got another question, or a sweet, sweet digital photograph, drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org. Answers sanitized for your protection Thursday.
1) Williamsurg: A reader writes, "Any idea what's planned for the newly dismantled cement factory on kent ave. btwn. n.3rd and n.4th (above), across from northside piers?"
2) Chelsea: "I was wondering if anyone knows what's going on at the former parking lot to the west of Justin's on West 21st street between 5th and 6th avenues. Right now they're digging a giant hole that looks like it will go through the block to 22nd street."
3) Harlem: "Anybody know what's going up on SW corner of 125th St. & Lenox. They got rid of those old buildings so fast." [N.B. This is the infamous Macy's corner. -ed.]
4) MePa?: Finally, a little off the beaten path, but we're game. A reader writes, "Early in the film Taxi Driver, Robert de Niro is walking down a westside street. Visible in the background is the High Line (amazingly still an operating, if little-used railroad); beyond that is a striking pier terminal with the name 'Swedish-America Line' emblazoned on it. Does anyone know what street he is on and what became of that building?"
