It appears Whole Foods is looking to expand its NYC empire westward. Lois Weiss reports in today's NYPost that the organic powerhouse is among the retailers interested in occupying the space beneath our old friend 808 Columbus Avenue, one of Extell's 30 story residential towers currently under construction. The Whole Foods would replace a C-Town market that was closed last year to make way for the new building. It's presumably an improvement over the original, generic proposal the developers floated for the space. No word on possible opening dates, but judging by its other city locations, but if this is a go, we're targeting 2011.
