It wasn't he best weekend on record for some North Brooklyn buildings designed by one of Brooklyn's most visible architects. First, the Department of Buildings decided that the Robert Scarano-designed Modern on N. 7th Street, on which they'd just lifted a Stop Work Order, wasn't ready for work after all. (Turns out some problems like damage to a neighboring building hadn't been addressed.) So, they went back and slapped a new Stop Work Order on the fence. Then, a truck tipped over into a house in Greenpoint as cement was being poured in violation of a Stop Work Order on a Scarano building there. Some weekends are a lot harder than others.
